Journal Entry-

Oh LORD, my soul clings to the dust, revive me according to Thy WORD!

“He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.” Ps.112:7

How do we trust in the LORD?

He has said, “Fear thou not, for I am with thee. Be not dismayed; for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Is.41:10

– We have received evil tidings (bad news) Ps.112:7

– “my heart is fixed…trusting in the LORD.” How can my heart be fixed and trust?

– What is it we are trusting the LORD for, or what has He said that we are believing/trusting in?

-“we know that all things [even this, as bad as it could be] work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.”

What is that purpose?

– “…to be conformed to the image of His Son.”

So, we believe and are certain, that this is for our good and God’s glory.

-We “know” by what is written, that God’s will for us, through this, and all trials, is that we give thanks! 1Thes.5:18

-And though our natural, fleshly nature desires to STOP and grieve, or pout for a time, THEN give thanks, God’s will is clear that, by His WORD, we are to give thanks continuously, always.

Phil.4:4- “Rejoice in the LORD always…”   [even now, with this news]

Ps.5:11- “ever shout for joy…rejoice and be joyful…”

Heb.13:15- “Praise…continually…giving thanks to His name.”

-We “know” that our heart being fixed, we are to sing praises. (Ps57:7)

Ps.108:1- “O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise…”

For what can we give thanks and praise, when we are told we have Melanoma skin cancer? How can you thank God for cancer?

-thank You, LORD, it is me and not Maureen, or any of my children, or grandchildren.

-thank You, that humanly speaking, something can be done. We were referred to a surgeon. Also, we are doing some natural things to help.

-thank You, for Your saving grace to me, my name is in the book of life, and to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD.

-Thank You that You have given me 32 years to seek to know Him and have the opportunity to “live and keep Thy word.” (Ps.119:17)

– Thank You, that in time I was able to witness to Maureen, she was saved, and God gave me my wife. (Pro.18:22)

-Thank You that I was delivered from the idea that too many children are bad, negative, or unwise.

– Thank You for giving us 13 healthy children.

-Thank You that most of them are saved.

-Thank You that all older children are walking with the LORD.

etc, etc, etc,

So, what will we do? Trust in the LORD and do good (Ps.37:3) [what we know to do, till my time is up]

-we will lift our eyes to the hills! From whence cometh our help! Our help cometh from the LORD!
