Hannah’s Example

Journal Entry-

“…her adversary provoked her sore, to make her fret….she wept….and did not eat.”
“Why is thy heart grieved?” (1Sam.1:1-18)

* SHE WAS PROVOKED
* SHE WAS FRETTING
* SHE BOTHERED UNTO TEARS
* SHE LOST HER APPETITE
* SHE WAS GRIEVED IN HER HEART

What was her response?

“And she was in bitterness of soul, AND SHE PRAYED UNTO THE LORD and wept bitterly.” (1Sam.1:10)

I too, have been FRETTING, BOTHERED, and GRIEVED IN MY HEART concerning the lack of interest
in spiritual things that I see in a certain young man and his sister- and also their father- the effect that it
is having on him. Also, because of what I see in this godly family who has dedicated their lives to ministry,
I have begun to be anxious concerning my own ability to minister to and raise my children to fear you!
Thank you for Hannah’s example of how to live out Phil.4:6-7- “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything,
by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace
of God, which passeth all understanding shall guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
