Memorials

Show me Thy ways, O LORD- teach me Thy paths. Lead me in Thy truth and teach me!

Josh 3:8- You, LORD, commanded Joshua to tell the priests to stand still in the edge of the Jordan
3:13- You promised what would happen when they obeyed-
15- They obeyed-
16- Just as You said, the water stopped and they crossed over on dry land-
4:1- then- (after they believed, obeyed, and received the promise)
THE LORD SPOKE SAYING…
4:2- “Take…twelve stones…
4:6-  that this may be a SIGN among you THAT WHEN YOUR CHILDREN ASK THEIR FATHERS IN TIME TO COME SAYING, “What mean ye by these stones?” Then ye shall answer them… (all that God did) and THESE STONES shall be for a memorial!”
Then- after they obeyed and received the promise, they obeyed again by heaping up the stones for a memorial- Joshua spoke “when children shall ask THEIR FATHERS in time to come, saying, “what mean these stones? Then ye shall let your children know saying, 1. our father’s did (this, the same action having believed and obeyed) 2. for the LORD Your God (did this for them)”

And why did You have them to do it this way???

“THAT ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH MIGHT KNOW THE HAND OF THE LORD, that it is MIGHTY, THAT YE MIGHT FEAR THE LORD YOUR GOD FOREVER”
(from generation to generation)

Oh LORD, oh my God, please give me grace and diligence to WRITE DOWN,
#1- the promises that You gave me-
#2- the conditions that You gave me-
#3- the way You have worked mightily in our lives

Then, give us wisdom for some sign to set up for a memorial (a book, written account, a picture, a monument?) So that in the time to come, our grandchildren, great grand children and beyond (if You tarry!) can see it and be prompted to ASK, “what means this?” and Your mighty deeds, in our lives could be told so future generations could KNOW FOR SURE, “…Thy power.” (Ps 71:18) and “…praise the LORD…” (Ps 102:18)
Help me, O LORD!
